Throughout the site, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to MONOVANE Technologies LLC. We operate the brands MONOVANE and VANEBAR. All products, including VANEBAR branded products, are designed in the United States and operated under the management of MONOVANE Technologies LLC. While based in the United States, we serve customers globally through our official website.

By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our "Service" and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions ("Terms of Service", "Terms"), including any additional terms and conditions referenced herein or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all visitors and customers of our website.

SECTION 3 — PRODUCTS, CUSTOM ORDERS, AND SAFETY DISCLAIMER

Product Description

Certain products or services may be available exclusively online through the website. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors and images of our bicycle parts, components, and custom gear.

Intended Use

All MONOVANE and VANEBAR products are designed and sold exclusively for sporting and athletic use in the disciplines of triathlon and time-trial (TT) cycling.

Custom and Made-to-Order Products

Due to the highly customized nature of certain products, including but not limited to the Vanebar Cockpit and related components, orders cannot be canceled, modified, or refunded once they have entered the production phase.

Definition of Production Phase: A custom or made-to-order product is considered to have entered the production phase once the customer has approved the final technical specifications and design, and MONOVANE has issued a written order confirmation. From this point forward, the order is non-cancellable and non-refundable except as provided herein.

Pre-Production CAD Approval & Conformance:

Prior to production, MONOVANE provides a detailed CAD drawing outlining precise specifications (including built-in reach, armrest zone length, grip length, and mount parameters). Written or electronic approval of this drawing by the customer constitutes a formal, binding agreement. MONOVANE satisfies its production obligations by manufacturing the product in conformance with the approved CAD drawing. Dimensional discrepancies between approved CAD specs and the customer's subjective post-installation expectations do not constitute a product defect.

Third-Party Spacers & System Integration Disclaimer:

MONOVANE cockpits feature built-in reach and geometric parameters as specified in approved design drawings. Final installed bike geometry (including overall reach and stack) is the combined result of the cockpit, frame, stem, and any stock or third-party spacers/wedges used. MONOVANE is not liable for positioning mismatches or excess reach caused by combining MONOVANE cockpits with third-party angle wedges or stock adapter kits.

Bicycle Safety & Installation Warning

Bicycle components and alteration parts (including handlebars, cockpits, and tuning components) are critical safety items. Improper installation or misuse can lead to severe injury or death. MONOVANE shall not be liable for any personal injury or death arising from the use of our products, including damage resulting from crashes, collisions, or high-impact forces that exceed the structural tolerance of any component, regardless of cause. Cycling accidents are typically the result of multiple contributing factors; the structural limitations of carbon fiber and composite components under extreme impact forces do not constitute a product defect.

You explicitly agree that all products purchased from us must be installed by a certified professional bicycle technician.
We are not liable for any damage, malfunction, personal injury, or accidents resulting from improper self-installation, product modifications, extreme riding conditions, racing, or normal wear and tear.

VANEBAR cockpit systems are intended for use by experienced athletes under professional supervision. Always follow installation guidelines and conduct regular safety inspections.

SECTION 4 — SHIPPING, PROCESSING, AND CUSTOMS / DUTIES

Order Processing

Standard in-stock orders are processed within 48 hours. Custom or made-to-order products will require additional production time as specified on the product page. Once your order is confirmed and technical specifications are approved, production typically takes 4–6 weeks.

Shipping & Delivery

Products are primarily dispatched from our US warehouse. To optimize global logistics, certain custom parts or specific inventory may be shipped directly from our verified manufacturing partners at approved facilities. Express delivery takes approximately 3–7 business days after shipment; standard delivery takes approximately 7–14 business days. Delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed.

Customs, Duties, and Taxes

USA orders: No import duties or customs fees upon delivery. Applicable sales tax may be charged depending on your state. Tax-free states include Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.

All other countries: The checkout price does not include destination VAT or import duties. The Buyer is solely responsible for all import customs clearances, duties, and local taxes imposed by the destination country.

To facilitate smoother delivery, we may offer specialized Dedicated Clearance Logistics Lines for certain regions. Utilizing these shipping methods does not shift the legal responsibility of import compliance away from the buyer.

Shipping Address Responsibility

Please ensure all shipping information provided at checkout is accurate and complete. MONOVANE is not liable for lost parcels, forced returns, or additional re-shipping costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete address information.

SECTION 5 — REFUNDS AND RETURNS POLICY

Standard Products

We offer a 14-day return window for standard, non-customized products from the date of delivery. The item must be unused, uninstalled, in its original unopened packaging, and in resalable condition. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs unless the item arrived defective or damaged in transit.

Custom / Made-to-Order Products (including Vanebar Cockpit)

All sales of customized products are final once production has commenced as defined in Section 3. Returns are only accepted in cases of verified structural manufacturing defects or damage sustained during initial transit. To be eligible, you must notify us within 7 days of delivery at support@monovane.com with clear photographic evidence. MONOVANE will cover return shipping and provide a repair or replacement at no additional cost.

If the issue arises from incorrect specifications provided by the customer, all associated shipping and remanufacturing costs are the customer's responsibility.

Installed & Used Hardware Non-Returnable:

Any custom or standard hardware that has been unboxed, mounted, clamped, or bolted onto a bicycle shows tooling marks and physical installation signs. Such items are deemed used and are strictly ineligible for return, refund, or exchange under any circumstances.

Chargeback & Payment Dispute Restrictions:

By placing a custom order, you explicitly agree that initiating a credit card chargeback, PayPal dispute, or payment reversal for custom-manufactured hardware built according to approved CAD specifications, or due to third-party spacer geometry conflicts, constitutes a breach of this agreement. MONOVANE reserves the right to present signed CAD approvals, communication logs, and these Terms of Service to payment processors as conclusive evidence to reject dispute claims.

Initiating a Return

To initiate a return or refund request, please contact us by email at support@monovane.com. Our team will review your request and respond within 7 business days of receiving it.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method (original-path refund) once the returned product has been received and inspected at our facility.

The following are non-refundable under any circumstances:

Original shipping fees

Import duties and taxes (contact your local customs office directly for duty refund requests)

Third-party payment processing fees charged by PayPal, credit card networks, or other gateways

SECTION 6 — LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY

MONOVANE offers a 24-month limited warranty to the original purchaser on all authentic MONOVANE and VANEBAR products, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended use. Warranty eligibility requires professional installation, adherence to our official guidelines, and use within the intended cycling disciplines (triathlon and TT). A valid proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

For full warranty terms, conditions, exclusions, and our Crash Replacement Program, please refer to our Warranty Policy.

SECTION 7 — ACCURACY OF BILLING AND PAYMENT INFORMATION

All transactions are processed in US Dollars (USD). We accept payments via Stripe, PayPal, and major credit card networks. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion. In the event that we cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you via the email or contact information provided at checkout.

SECTION 8 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The website, along with its original content, features, functionality, logos, and trademarks (including the MONOVANE and VANEBAR brands and designs), are the exclusive property of MONOVANE Technologies LLC and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute our intellectual property without prior written consent.

SECTION 9 — THIRD-PARTY LINKS & TOOLS

We may provide you with access to third-party tools or links (such as Google Analytics, Stripe, and PayPal) which we neither monitor nor have any control over. You acknowledge and agree that we provide access to such tools "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, representations, or conditions of any kind.

SECTION 10 — DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND ARBITRATION

Informal Resolution First

Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, both parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute by contacting MONOVANE at info@monovane.com and allowing a 30-day period for informal negotiation.

Binding Arbitration

If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree that any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of our products shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), rather than in court. The arbitration shall take place in Wyoming, USA. Each party shall bear its own costs unless the arbitrator determines otherwise.

Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis only. Class actions and class arbitrations are not permitted.

Exceptions

Either party may seek emergency injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in Wyoming to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

SECTION 11 — FORCE MAJEURE

MONOVANE Technologies LLC shall not be held liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics or public health emergencies, war or civil unrest, government-imposed restrictions or embargoes, customs authority delays or seizures, disruptions to global shipping networks, labor disputes, or failures of third-party suppliers or logistics providers.

In such circumstances, we will notify affected customers as promptly as practicable and will make reasonable efforts to resume performance. Estimated delivery dates and production timelines are not guaranteed under force majeure conditions.

SECTION 12 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

In no event shall MONOVANE Technologies LLC, our directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, suppliers, or service providers be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the service or any products procured using the service, even if advised of their possibility. This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

SECTION 13 — INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MONOVANE Technologies LLC and our officers, directors, agents, contractors, suppliers, and employees from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms of Service or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

SECTION 14 — GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding not subject to binding arbitration (as set forth in Section 10) shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, USA.

SECTION 15 — CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. If we make material changes, we will notify you via a prominent announcement on our website homepage or via email. Your continued use of or access to our website or the Service following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes. We also reserve the right to modify product pricing at any time, including in response to changes in material costs, manufacturing processes, component upgrades, or other operational factors. Any price changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed and paid.
